Useful in parts

Mixed feelings. The good parts are genuinely good; the rest is forgettable.

This is the third book I have read on ai & machine learning this year, and it is comfortably the best of them. I appreciated the honesty about what the book does not cover — it saved me from expecting things that were not there. It is denser than the page count suggests, and I found myself slowing down around the middle. Useful as a reference, less so as a straight read from cover to cover.

Finally, an explanation that clicks

Excellent from start to finish. No filler, no padding.

I have been working with ai & machine learning for a few years now and I still found plenty here that was new to me. The author avoids over-explaining, which keeps the pace up but means you need to pay attention. I appreciated the honesty about what the book does not cover — it saved me from expecting things that were not there. There is a section near the end that ties several earlier ideas together in a way I had not seen before. This is the book I wish had existed when I started working with ai & machine learning.
